So, I’ve wanted one of these since I saw This Video by Ali Brown.
These apparently were once used by florists, known as frogs, because they spent much of their time in water, however they’re now highly collectible and cone in a myriad of different shapes and sizes, along with different themes.
They’ve since been replaced by something called Oasis, that you wet and pop your flower arrangement in:
I wanted one for my Diamond Painting Pens. I am really irritated by them rolling off my desk, so now they won’t, plus I have an item I find aesthetically pleasing.
Mine came from a charity shop and cost £4:00.
So, do you have one of these? Do you collect them? Or use them?
I took this week off, in fact, I’m on a sabbatical for the whole month. No getting up at the crack of dawn, no running around and not much internet stuff at all (apart from YouTube videos!).
While I’ve been off, I’ve attended some appointments and done things to make my life a little easier when I go back to work. Sometimes you just have to step back and see what is working and what isn’t.
I have developed a hearing issue and that’s altered my job. Fortunately for me, I’m self employed, and so I can tweak my offerings accordingly. Again, reframing what you can do, against what you can’t.
Course correction, or reframing your life can be one of liberation or re alignment. Either way, I think it’s a good idea to take a step back and audit your life to see what you can change (or not). Those things you cannot change, you can change your thinking on, thus making things easier for yourself.
It’s been an interesting week, the next thing to tackle is my website. Now, that’s going to be a challenge in itself! While doing the blog along it became apparent that some elements of my website weren’t working, so, another thing to audit. 😜
Well, we braved the bus today. We were both feeling nervous (we being my husband and I) but we thought if we didn’t go out, we wouldn’t.
We went to Canterbury as it’s near to us. It has all the usual shops and things, but obviously no coffee shops etc were open. It was very cold, and we missed sitting somewhere nice. Roll on the 21st June !
I failed to get slippers, but I did get a reflexology set, and a set of cards. I bought a deck for my friend Sasha and dropped them off outside her door. I really miss seeing her, we normally laugh until we cry when we meet up!
Here’s a picture of the doors of the Cathedral grounds :
And here’s what I bought:
Since Canterbury is so old, there’s lots of history there:
I read this in one of Effy’s blog posts, and it really made an impression on me.
“F*ck that noise”.
Please excuse the rude word, however it currently describes just how I’m dealing with life right now. Some things this month have been a bit difficult and I’ve had to draw a stop to it, the only thing I can do is remove the person from my life, and the thoughts going through my head, and the above mantra is helping.
After all, it’s just noise. I can’t change others attitude towards me, or their behaviour. They’re not going to change at this late stage in their lives.
However I don’t have to put up with, or listen to, their noise.
And so the Mantra begins again…..:)
Effy’s blog is here www.Effywild.com and thanks Effy, this has really helped me deal with stuff!
